Aerial Yoga Teacher Training Course

“Aerial yoga is a balance between hanging on and letting go”

 24th-30th MAY 2020

Open for Registering!

Blue Indigo Yoga School, reaching out from Siem Reap, to invite you to join the next 50 Hours Aerial Yoga Teacher Training Course (TTC). We are the only school in Cambodia accredited by Yoga Alliance International offering this TTC; giving you the fundamentals of Aerial Yoga.

Aerial Yoga or also known as Anti-gravity Yoga is a combination of classical Hatha asanas and aerial circus arts. This practice adds a new challenge to traditional yoga poses and it is accessible to everyone, even complete yoga beginners.

Using a specially designed swing to strengthen the muscles, find more length in the spine while playing with gravity. The swing also helps to find safe and correct alignments for both tricky inversions and in most yoga poses. Aerial Yoga is a chance to bring your yoga practice to another level, to play, fly, to try something different and to put yourself in a position you never thought you could be in.

This training can be done after a Yoga TTC as a good foundation and understanding in yoga is needed. If you are beginner to yoga, we advice to attend at least a few yoga classes (meditation, hatha, vinyasa, yin, restorative, Aerial…) first to gain some experience and practice beforehand.

Upon successful completion, you will receive an official Certificate of continued education from Blue Indigo; a certified school by Yoga Alliance International and fully qualified yoga teachers.

Your instructor:

Asma has been teaching and exploring yoga for several years, she is a certified level 2 Iyengar Yoga Teacher by Patanjali Yoga Switzerland. She is also certified in Aerial Yoga and prenatal. Mostly teaching and training in Asia for the last four years, she continues her studies about yoga and functional movement.

Asma also has an artistic background in fine arts painting, circus art, dance and has been a theatre actress for 7 years before her yoga career. Her classes are a mix of her artistic and yogic journey.

    Starting the day early with aerial yoga practice, then have breakfast followed by a break moving on to explore different topics together;
learning, analyzing and practicing each yoga poses for a better understanding. Lunch is around 12 noon, followed by a break. Resuming at around 2:30pm for either self-practice or learning to teach classmates. Carrying on further with different aerial practice (flow, restorative…), discovering the many possibilities with the swing and the day finishes with one hour aerial/restorative yoga.

Siem Reap is renowned for it’s magnificent temples. As the largest religious and spiritual monument known today, the area has a unique culture and vibration, with deep roots in Theravada Buddhism. You will experience that spiritual culture while practicing in Blue Indigo or in the countryside, under the shade of centenary trees and archeological wonders.

You will be staying at the Blue Indigo Yoga School, located 10 minutes away from the Siem Reap riverside. It comprises of seven, wooden and rustic cottages, each 30 sq. m. with fans to keep the atmosphere cool, mosquito nets and a bathroom. We don’t provide toiletries. Each cottages are designed to suit basic needs only. They are nestled in a lovely area surrounded by trees and flowers. Please bare in mind that we are not a resort, the accommodations are very simple and basic.

For the training you have the option to stay onsite or just come for the course only without accommodation. Please make sure to arrive the day before, the night is included.

The school has a 100 square meter shala (yoga space) for yoga and meditation. To avoid overcrowd, we choose to welcome small groups at a time, so we have limited capacity, so be sure to book your spot as soon as you are ready.

Breakfast typically starts around 8 am with different options that includes honey, bread, rice porridge, oats… Teas are specialty and mixes of the house and available all day.

Our Khmer cook concocts essentially vegetarian food, with seasonal and local ingredients for lunch. It is perfectly balanced, simple, participating in your physical and spiritual welfare.

The meals are enjoyed in the garden under the shades of the refreshing trees.

Dinner is not included, you are free walk to one of many restaurants and street food stalls nearby.

The temperature in Cambodia is hot, our cottages and outdoor shalas only have fan, no air-conditioning.We try our best to adapt the active schedule around the hot hours of the day; enjoying the cooler mornings and evenings.

Please bring your own yoga mat or yoga towel to class for hygienic and energetic reasons. If not, we do provide yoga mats in the shalas.

We would like to point out that our hammocks/swings are very different from the usual ones you may be used to, the fabric is not elastic and wide.
Mind that the gate closes at 10pm.

Kindly note that you will be in a big green garden setting, as we choose to not use monthly bugs extermination gases to keep it’s ecosystem alive, so you will encounter animals (cats, dogs, chicken, frogs…), insects (ants, spiders…) and mosquitoes. Dry season usually is from March to August.

We also would like to remind you that we are close to the city, as the city expands, therefore there may be construction and daily life agitations.

    Check-in time is from 9:30am to 6pm.
Check-out time is  before 12 noon.

Please book your flight to arrive at Siem Reap International Airport (REP).
